Directions for installing WittyWalls
Begin with a clean flat surface. If not freshly painted, washed and dried is next best.
  1. Place saying on a flat surface and using the long edge of the craft stick, press the letters onto the backing by lightly rubbing the entire surface.
  2. Measure your or surface to find the center lines. Place the saying onto the wall using the center of your surface and the center of the saying. Using tape place the saying on the wall, stand back to make sure it is where you want it. Make small guide lines on the wall with either pencil or tape to make placing the saying easier when it’s sticky.
  3. Peel the backing (thicker of the two sides) off the lettering to expose the sticky side of the lettering by very slowly peeling it off by curling it back. Curling it back helps to insure the letters stick to the masking sheet rather than the backing. Doing it slowly insures that you don’t leave some of the smaller letters or punctuation on the backing. If part of a letter starts to stick to the backing instead of the mask, just press it onto the mask and continue to peel the backing off.
  4. Using the guide lines you placed on the wall, place the saying on the wall BUT ONLY STICK THE CORNERS OF THE MASK TO THE WALL, NOT THE LETTERS YET. Step back and check. If you like the placement, gently press the letters to the wall with your hands, making sure not to create wrinkles or bubbles in the lettering.
  5. Press the letters onto the wall by rubbing with the end of the craft stick, firmly, but not hard enough to gouge the mask or lettering.
  6. Remove the mask starting at 1 corner and folding it completely back on itself and slowly pulling it from the letters. If part of a letter sticks to the mask, place it back on the wall and rub it with your finger until it sticks. The smaller letters are the most prone to stick to the mask, so work slowly.
Vinyl lettering is fairly forgiving, if for some reason a letter or two is completely beyond repair just contact us; we may be able to replace just them to save your saying.
